Adventures of Little Herbert in Mushroom Land

Herbert is a small and scared boy who dreams about being good enough to play baseball with the other kids. By magical transformation he ends up in a Land of Mushrooms and of a size of a mushroom. Herbert disguises himself by wearing the cap of a mushroom on his head and survives in this new, strange world.  He meets remarkable characters, builds friendships, but misses his mother and wants to go home.
Meanwhile, an alien Giant Slug attacks Mushroom Land, and Herbert decides to help his friends to protect their country. He becomes first a spy (thanks to his removable mushroom cap, he can pass for a toadstool), then a leader and finally a great warrior who stands up to and defeats the giant enemy using his skills as a baseball player.
