There were many snails in the forest, big and small, slow and not so slow, but Curvy was different. Her shell was strangely bluish, which would be enough to make her distinguished, though it’s not what put her in the spotlight. Curvy was obsessed with princes. She knew that she was destined to meet a prince. Of course snail people laughed at her or sometimes felt sorry for her, but it had no effect on Curvy: she was absolutely determined to find her prince.
Curvy heard that princes originated from frogs after the latter were kissed. She gathered all her strength and set off on a road to the Pond where, she found out, the frogs lived in abundance. Day after day Curvy crawled along the path that led to the water, and eventually she reached it.
“Oh, my Prince, come out, come out wherever you are,” she cried. “If you’re stuck under a frog’s skin I’ll help you reveal yourself!”
“How?” she heard a voice. Curvy looked in the direction where it was coming from but saw nothing.
“Who is talking?” she asked.
“I am here,” said the voice...
